Ben Stiller Opens Up About “Failing” During Separation from Wife Christine Taylor — Says He Couldn’t “Live Up” to His Parents’ Marriage

Hollywood star Ben Stiller has revealed the emotional struggles he faced during his separation from wife Christine Taylor, admitting he felt like he was “failing” and couldn’t live up to the lasting marriage of his famous parents, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara.

In a recent interview, the Zoolander actor reflected on the couple’s 2017 split, describing it as one of the most difficult phases of his life. “I felt like I was failing in the most important area — my family. My parents had this incredible relationship that lasted over 60 years, and I couldn’t measure up to that,” Stiller confessed.

Despite their separation, Stiller and Taylor continued to co-parent their two children, Ella and Quinlin, maintaining mutual respect and friendship. During the pandemic lockdown, the two reconciled after spending extended time together at home.

Ben added, “The time apart helped us understand each other better. It wasn’t easy, but it made us realize what truly mattered. We found our way back.”

The couple, who first met in 1999 on the set of a TV pilot, have been married for over two decades. Their story has since become an inspiring tale of love, patience, and rediscovery in Hollywood — proving that sometimes, second chances do work.
